Pro-Am Tournament
Where top student anglers meet the pros on Lake Erie
The Pro-Am tournament is not scheduled for 2026. It returns every other year.
The EDUCAST Pro-Am Tournament is a biennial competitive bass fishing event held at Turkey Point on Lake Erie that pairs amateur and professional anglers for a single day of competition.
The top 10 amateur participants from the past two years are each paired with a professional angler for the day. Teams fish using pro-level bass boats and follow a catch-and-release format. Competition runs from 7:30 AM to 3:00 PM, with scoring based on each team's five largest bass — largemouth or smallmouth — weighed and recorded.
A respected and well-attended event in the Canadian fishing community, the tournament provides competitive fishing alongside some of the best in the sport and offers amateurs an opportunity to learn from professionals.
Many well-known Canadian pros, including Bob Izumi, Dave Mercer, and Nick Cousvis, have taken part in the event over the years.
